THANK YOU for all the wonderful birthday wishes--I sincerely hope each and every one of you got a personal comment in return?

I can't say I especially cared for the way my workplace acknowledged it... they did the whole "pretend we forgot" thing for the entire day for the sake of surprising me the NEXT day (the nice lady who baked the cake admitted that she'd been given a week's notice, in fact, so they hadn't really forgotten). Okay, so I was surprised, but that ALSO means that they deliberately allowed me to spend my real birthday in a state of frustration and to leave work that day on a bad note... really not very cool. Coming back home to my wonderful family (and countless messages here and on FB)? Much better!
