Just a quick add... won't you please go visit my good friend BritRiot and wish her a super HAPPY BIRTHDAY?
Okay, it's update time!
First and foremost, I am going to be OFF-BOARD all NEXT week (starting with the 7/4 holiday, in fact). We're all going up to Canada to celebrate my parents' 50th wedding anniversary... no laptop, no expected computer time (and I imagine we'll have plenty else to do in the meantime, let's be fair)! So expect a double-header MANOR newsflash sometime this week... and forgive me in advance if I'm not around to hype your new set or anything similar in the meantime? We'll catch up.
Had a blast with the Troupers of the Gold Coast yesterday--performing our first olio review in years ("Vaudeville Revisited") for the Salinas Baptist Church... if you caught me reciting the poem "Train to Morrow" on the MANOR last season, well, that's where I picked it up--it's one of my stage standbys, and the audience still loves it!
Speaking of MANOR? We're going to shoot two more episodes Tuesday evening before we regroup for the Halloween special... the Paper Wing players have made this an extraordinary season thus far! And speaking of the Paper Wing Theatre Company, you've got two weekends left to catch the truly amazing contemporary drama HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE. Think I'm just being nice because my friends did it? Not at all... Paula Vogel's play deservedly earned the Pulitzer Prize amongst other accolades--this is theatre at its confrontational best and an emotionally overwhelming experience...
Okay... how about some pictures of my friends?
On the SG front, we have smashing new work from Savanah...
...from Sliver...
...and from Dwam!
And on the Hopeful Friendly Front? She's already hit the front page and gone, but I never got around to congratulate Katzenz for going Pink!
In the meantime, Aerion certainly knows how to Tap the Keg... as illustrated by the incomparable Alissa Brunelli...
...who also did the honors for a truly amazing follow-up by Jaxy!
And gosh darn it if she wasn't also behind the debut set of the delightful Killjoi, whom I'd like to welcome aboard as I wrap up this blog!
This just in! This just in! Peke and Crystalcore are back in action! (Not part of MR--posted with permission for the sheer fun of it!)
As always, more to come!
All best,
Remo D.
