Just came back from Jules Maes. The Wages of Sin was a blast - I ran into one of my favorite ex-bartenders from the Emigrant, and hing out with him for a bit.
Jules Maes reminds of a gentrified bar that I went to in Chicago this past March...a bunch of white kids hanging out, in a ....kitschy bar, where the real regulars have been chased off. (A couple of bikers did come in late, but it was totally not there bar. Totally.)
I went CD shopping yesterday, waiting for my to-go from Thai Tom's. I found some cheap CDs that I was looking for - Billy Bragg (& Wilco)'s Mermaid Avenue (CD 1), and the new Dropkick Murphys B-sides.
Now if only I could find a used VNV Nation CD before the show on Thursday...
