I promised myself that I wouldn't write it, told myself that nothing good could come of it, rationalized that after waking up in pain from the evil dentist (he really wasn't evil) that I was having a touch of paranoia. . .etc. . . but I just gotta say it.
I have had enough of the internet, had enough of the news, and had just about enough of the current political agenda. . . grrr...
Last year around this time I went on a search of the internet to find information about my least favorite Holiday Saint Patricks day. I found thousands of entries for both the Pro Saint Patty and the Pagan Slaying Saint Patty. Now after scrolling past over a thousand entries there is nothing but the shiny happy Saint Pat. I know the sites existed they are just so buried under new "happier" sites. Has the world gone so far to the Right Wing that they want to put the happiest spin on everything???
My understanding of Saint Patrick. Born Roman, disliked by his kinsman, enslaved at his early teens to the Irish, fed and clothed and placed as a sheep hearder. Escaped Ireland and fled to Britain, found God, joined the Church and although he was assigned to Britain went to Ireland with a bit of revenge on his mind. The converting of the Pagans in Ireland was not a peacefull thing, there are recounts and historians that have indicated that it was closer to Genoside. Saint Patrick changed Christian Holiday dates to coincide with Pagan rituals and the driving of the snakes out of Ireland was a symbol for beheading or destroying Pagan leaders and sites. whew!!!! I promise I'll only do this once a year.
I understand that eveyone has their beliefs and I don't want to change them per-se'. . . I just want to be able to find information on the net without seeing a couple of hundred home made sites about "My fuzzy kitty loves Saint Patrick"
