I was walking down Broadway the other day and all of a sudden, I felt a sickening crunch under my boot and a small squeak. I looked down, mortified and saw a small bird beating its wings and hopping about.
I felt bad becuase if I had been looking down instead of straight ahead, I might have avoided the low-flying bird. I picked the small bird up and put it under a tree with some shade, knowing I could not take the bird home with me (cats). I feel really bad but I don't know if there was anything I could have done otherwise.
In other news, I'm getting ready for the final weekend of King Richard's Faire. Oct. 23rd and 24th are the final days. I requested both saturday and sunday off as well as monday to recuperate. I'm sure that Penner's will be packed even more so than any other night during this season. I'll probably end up staying with Allan, one of the actors at faire. I almost have my full costume set up. Hopefully I'll have enough to buy the doublet, the mask and the boots all in one shot. We're talking about $350 all together. The good thing is, I already have my kilt (yes I am scottish, my family traces back to the MacKinnon clan) and I also have the shirt, arm bracers, belt, pouch, and mug.
