How was everyone's 4th? Mine was amazing! As I said in my previous blog, I went to Modest mouse concert yesterday! It was just as EPIC as I thought. I was put to the test though! I stood in the same exact spot for more then 10 hours, through the rain and the cold. (It poured 7 different times and then constantly sprinkled all day.) I stood my ground though lol. I didn't leave no matter what, not even for food or potty breaks. lol I was a trooper! I am sorry but I am super proud of myself.
Here is the set list
12:00pm -The Workshy- They were the opening act. They are from Ames, so it was cute because there were people that knew them personally (so they joked around). They weren't bad, and the easiest way to describe them was that they were a funk jam band. Kinda fun and different.

Workshy
1:45pm - Avi Buffalo- they reminded me of Mew, but definitely not anywhere near as good as MEW! I listened to their stuff on i tunes a bit to get a feel before I went, and I thought they sucked. Until I heard them live. They are so much better live, but he will never beat Jonas Bjerre's voice. NO WAY! lol

Avi Buffalo
3:15pm - The Walkmen- Okay, so this band was sooo shitty. I don't like them at all. The lead singer could not sing. I only knew this because I listened to the music before I went. The quality of their performance was shit lol. I am sorry but I could not really hear him over the instruments and when I did he was off key. It was just bad.

The Walkmen
5:00pm - Railroad Earth- This was the cute bluegrass group. It was so awesome, because there was this cute old lady there to see them. She was giving me tips on how to claim your spot for a concert. Which I already knew from my awesome best-friend, but I acted like she helped me. She was so nice. I asked her if she was staying for modest mouse and she said no, she had to go to a family event but that she had seen them before.. I KNOW EPIC, RIGHT? lol. She saw them at the house of blues in Chicago, and she said they packed a lot of sound indoors! lol and that they were better outside. lol. I asked her how many times she has seen modest mouse, and she said 6 times! LMAO. AWESOME.

Railroad
7:00pm -The Cool Kids- Then there was this rap group, I know, weird right? Right before modest mouse.. I don't know. lol Whatever. Anyways they weren't too bad if I liked that kind of music. I was just counting down at this point.

Cool Kids
So after this act, I was so excited that every time I thought of Isaac Brock coming on stage my stomach dropped! lol I was just so worked up. I mean if you stood there for 10 hours waiting and now it was to only like 30 mins till the time has arrived.. I think you would be pumped too.
I was so pumped that I snapped at a guy that tried to push me out of my spot. He was a big burly guy too. lol I already told Alyeska that it was like she jumped in my body and stuck up for me, cause I was not afraid to speak my mind and tell him off! Even tho he could have crushed me. lol I was not fucking moving. So I told him off. I said, " Uh, excuse me but I have been here since eleven AM, so knock it off! If you wanted to be up front then you should have gotten here when I did at eleven, instead of just an hour ago! Then he tried to act all tough but my friend the security guy stuck up for me and said he would kick him out if he caused anymore trouble. He had a good spot too for only showing up at 8pm, he was just trying to be an asshole. I was grateful that I made friends with security, I think that is one of the smartest things that you can do at a concert. lol

9:00pm -Modest Mouse- Anyway the concert started at 9:30pm, which was fine! It was so worth the wait! I was dancing and singing along! I loved it. They played almost all the songs I wanted to hear so that is amazing in it self lol. The only thing that could have made it better would be that Alyeska was there instead of the guy I went with.. that is a whole another story, so for now, I am good with just saying how grateful and happy I was to finally attend a MODEST MOUSE concert! FUCK YEAH

MODEST MOUSE!

Just one of the 7 seven pictures of me being soaked! lol
Have a good night

I have never seen them live so I am so excited, and the fact that it is a free concert I love the price.

Great concert line up! Looks like you had fun. I saw Modest Mouse here in Austin. They're a great show.
