I just signed the lease on my new apartment. I'm only moving a couple of blocks from where I am now. I'll still be a downtown girl. Even though I was considering it, I can't imagine living far from downtown, as in off the beltline or further. It just seems like suburian death trap ... eeek!
The rent out there, however, is so much cheaper its ridiculous. Its laughable how much landlords charge for rent downtown, it gives me that "What the fuck?" reaction. It should be illegal, but Madison gentrification is so out of control, its like a fucking wild fire sweeping through downtown. I'm all for downtown rejuvination, but for fuck's sake $5000,000 - 1 Million dollars for one of these fucking high rise condos downtown? Make me puke!!!

Mine is fairly cheap, but the ones I looked at before I moved in here were pretty pricey, no matter what part of town I went to.
