i swear i don't take sides! i just... encourage quick resolutions.
friday night, which sadly enough is usually our "catch up on sleep so we can enjoy the rest of the weekend" night, our neighbors in the back of the house had a big, loud, long surprise party. for some reason, it was primarily centered in the room against our bedroom wall. we napped in the living room until about 4:30am, then went to bed and listened to drunken conversation about a guy getting so trashed on Everclear that he was "speaking in tongues", which "drew will never get over". needless to say we did NOT get much sleep. that was ok until spott's jew called and asked us to help her pack and move from her dorm room to home.
we ended up helping. since her parents live 10 minutes from her dorm, i was thinking "ok this should be easy". wow i was mistaken! the girl has STUFF, the most remarkable being the plastic grocery bags she'd collected "just in case she needed them." yeah, and i wasn't allowed to throw them out. a grand marquis, a grand prix, and a focus sedan worth of stuff later, she STILL isn't done. *shakes head* i'm not helping anymore! seriously, my car should have been able to take everything from her room in one trip, including her fridge. apparently i hadn't appreciated how much of a packrat she is...
i'm sure i'll get over it. i've been in moving mode for way too long, and it is SO much easier when you streamline. get rid of the garbage, stuff that is really easy to replace, and stuff you don't use. make sure you unplug and defrost the fridge at least a day before you want to move it. pack BEFORE your friends come to help move it all (or lacking boxes, at least organize what you have!).
after the move, we all had some food & came back to our place so the jew could beat a level of one of the jak & daxter games that spott has been stuck at, and i ended up falling asleep on the couch-ish*. i really don't remember going to bed, but apparently i did because i woke up this morning snuggled in my bed.
now, even though all i really want is to do my own thing today, i have to get cleaned up, clean my house, and go shopping. my family is getting together for my brother's birthday. yay family gathering .
later all
♥
