Just so you know, I've been banned from the sugarcube. Jocelyn has said she is done with me, that any possibility of friendship with her is ruined. I'm not sure what to do. I dealt with the situation poorly... I didn't want things to end up this way.

Something I often think about when it comes to vinyl is the fact that it literally is better quality sound than mp3s and CDs, what with LPs containing the true duplicates of the sound waves and mp3s and CDs only approximating them. And I've wondered, but never found out about, whether it's even possible to store true sound waves on a computer... or if that would require so much space that it would be impossible. Your comment has me thinking about this again...
Dentarthurdent said that for tape to mp3 he just plugged his boombox into the back of the computer, but turned the recording volume way down, so I'll have to try that. If I still have problems I could send the tape to you... but that is a HUGE maybe because once I listen to it again I may be too embarrassed to share

Yeah, LPs have their issues... and I actually could never really hear the difference in sound quality. CDs and mp3s are a lot easier.

I'm feeling a little down about my banner now because I had a lengthy conversation with Springtime (old sugarcube member, I don't know if you knew him) in my LiveJournal about ways to improve it, and the improved version is so much better than the one I submitted. I think the one I submitted will get rejected, but maybe if I'm feeling brave enough to step up to the banner-approval gods again I may submit the nicer version after a few months have gone by.
