my first week at work went well. it was really busy and i'm totally exhausted but i really like the people that i work with and the atmosphere. the days go by really quickly because there is LOTS to do. i like having so much responsibility.
monday i read all of the manuals and polices and procedures and stuff like that. it was really boring but i'm glad they have that sort of training. it gave me a good idea of how the company oporates. tuesday i shadowed the current receptionist who is being promoted to a co-ordinator position. she showed me how the computer programs work and everything. something really nice about cancare is that they are paperless. they scan every document so that they don't have to have hundreds of filing cabinets. it's so easy to find things and you don't have to worry about putting a clients file back and keeping everything in order. wednesday i learened a bit more of the administrative aspects of the job and thursday i was by myself answering the phones and greeting clients, yadda yadda yadda. i'm sure it will become failry monotinous but there are going to be things that will keep me busy at least. friday i had lunch with lycoris because she works only two subway stops away from me. i think we will make it a regular occurance.
friday night i took justin out downtown. we were going to go see fido and then out to some bars but we didn't make it to the theatre in time and we didn't want to wait around for 2 hours so we went to ben and jerry's for icecream and then out to some bars instead.
we went to this place called smokeless joe's that i've been wanting to take justin to since we first met. it's a really cool place. it's kinda a small hole in the wall but its realyl neat. they have a menu with about 200 types of beer and they serve lots of different types of mussels and oysters. they even have some gluten free beers so i was able to have some drinks too! we walked a few blocks because it was so nice out and ended up at sneaky dees for nachos and then took the subway home. it was fun to go out to some bars with justin. it's something that we never really do.
this weekend has been nice and relaxing. yesterday i didnt' even get out of my pj's. today we were going to go to the wine and cheese show to see lisseth and sandi but we realized that we can't really afford it. i'm glad that i'm working full time now because we won't be struggling to much financially anymore. at least i hope we won't be. today we went for a drive to whitby and walked along the water for a bit.
we're going to cook ribs for dinner...mm.....ribs. we bought them from a butcher shop near justins parents house. i'm looking forward to them. anyways...that's about all that's new with me. time to go look up a recipe and go to the grocery store.....
