So this week has been rather eventful. Monday night karaoke was a blast. I'm quite the light weight so after a few drinks I was QUITE tipsy. It was nice to see everybody and the singing was spectacular as usual. We even got in some dancing!
Tuesday morning when I went into work everyone was making fun of my for being hungover, which I wasn't really. I was just extremely tired from lack of sleep from having totally amazing sex the night before. 90% of the people that I work with are muslim and very religious so I kind of felt like they were mocking me. They were with out a doubt looking down on me for it. I really like my new job but there is definitly a cultural barrier between some of the staff. It is a totally new feeling, I'm not quite sure how to describe how I feel about it. I mean, it's not new for me to be a part of the minority, the person on the outside that doesn't quite fit in. It was different when I was the person everyone stared at in high school for having weird hair and piercings and dressing in home made clothing. Since I've started working there I have been reall examining myself as well as my life, and giving much more thought to who I actually am as a person. It's been eye opening in a sense.
Thursday was my day off. I got to sleep in and snuggle with Justin. It was nice for a change. We got up late and had a nice long shower together, sat and snuggled more on the couch drinking tea and watching television, had lunch together and then decided to go out to get our passport and work visa photos taken (more to come on why we are getting passports and work visa's later). The jeep woudln't start so we decided to take the subway downtown and kill two birds with one stone. Justin had this parking permit thingy to deal with at city hall and then we got our pics taken, went out for sushi at my favourite japanese restaurant and toured the AGO for a couple of hours before heading home.
Last night was so much fun just hanging out with Lucy and her friend. We played this kick ass zombie game called "ZOMBIES!!!". It was a little complicated but once we got playing it was awesome. heh...when we thought pete was going to win Lucy came through and kicked all of our asses.
Friday I stayed home, sick. I feel like crap today too but I know I have to work. I need the money.
Hopefully tomorrow some people will be coming over for dinner at my place for a little bit of a pre birthday celebration for myself.
So ya...that's been my week in a nut shell.
Oh ya! I said I would say more about why Justin and I are getting passports and visa's. Justin was offered a job in London England working full time for Sky Television. They are apparently the largest broadcasting company in Europe. We're both really excited but it is quite the process to get everything sorted out so that he can work over there. We won't be leaving for a few months still but it's exciting none the less!
