Well. Of all the times to come down with the flu. I've been sick for the past five days, which meant that I imbibed not a single drop of alcohol, nor did I take any of the variety of drugs on display this weekend at the single most fun 3-day party I've ever attended. Despite being dead sober all weekend, I still had a blast. I do kind of wish I'd been able to partake a little bit. Instead I volunteered with an oranization (thanks hippomonki) that walked around with bagels and water to help any unfortunate souls who might have had a bit too much to drink, or perhaps needed to lie down, or eat hummus, or all of the above.
The activities were too wondrous and numerous to list all of them. A samba band rocked my socks off last night and I lost at least two pounds from dancing. The Black Peppercorns took to the stage and kicked everyones' asses. Things were set on fire. The whole thing was beautifully executed and just completely blew away my expectations. I took like a million pictures of it all. Oh, and on top of that I finally got to meet Alohra.
I fail to find the words to adequately describe it all. Frankly, I'm amazed that I survived. Fucking exhausted.
As it winds down, I realize that summer is, for all practical purposes, upon me. Nothing but work and free time. Time to finish up the Lemony Snicket books, and start in on the mountain of ones I want to get read. Time to write more music and rock with hansel unitl our fingers bleed. Time to begin writing a new book, or perhaps pick up the pieces of one left unfinished. Time to reflect on my life and determine the direction I want to take it in. It's time, time, time that you love. It's time. Time. Time.

The party was a lot of fun! Had a really good turnout, and everyone seemed to have a good time. Um, no, we didn't play your mix...I actually got really trashed really early on in the night and didn't pay much attention to what was played, and Mike ended up playing a lot of his own stuff that he brought. But I have listened to the mix, and it's good stuff! Thanks!
