I got internet at home. This is very nice.
Although I'm afraid it may put me at odds with the woman I live with... I gave Comcast the go-ahead to drill a bit of a hole in my wall to install the modem, and didn't really check with her beforehand. Ah well, it's done now.
I did write a little note apologizing. And offered her free use of the compy. My only concern is that she turns out to be the type who silently resents me forever instead of just telling me she's irritated.

I've just had enough of that passive-aggressive unpleasantness in my life, thank you very much.

p.s. no offense to any of you, but if I find you guilty of abusing the *spoilers* function, I'm boycotting your journals on principle.
