There were so many wonderful sets posted in January that it was hard to narrow my choices down to five favorites, but after some careful deliberation, I finally picked just five. In no particular order, my five favorite sets from January 2015:
Receive Me with @yugen by @cherry - I love radio and I love pinup, so I could I resist a set that combines vintage radio gear and a gorgeous pinup model? The oscilloscope and the room create a vintage feel that is perfectly complemented by Yugen's fresh, natural look. One of the things I liked most about this set is the transition from photo 39 to photo 40. As Yugen lets her pigtails down, the vibe goes from delightfully cute to downright sexy. I absolutely love the series of shots from 41 to 46. The enticing look in her eyes in 41 and 42 is followed by look at her curves in 43, 44, and 45 to be capped off by those eyes and her expression in relation to the "Love" tattoo in 46. This is just a marvelous set and #46 is a simply beautiful image!
Art Psalms with @ripley by @thelabrat - TheLabRat has rapidly become one of my favorite photographers on this site. I love how he's captured Ripley in this set - there's obviously good chemistry between photographer and model and it shows in the look in her eyes and her extraordinary smile. While there are some sultry shots in this set, my favorites are the ones where there's a sparkle in her eye and that smile's turned up; I love the playfully sexy feel it lends the set. Let's not make it all about the photographer though... those incredibly long legs, amazing curves, and brilliant smile are irresistible.
A Warm Place with @pulp by @michaelmae - What an brilliant set! The title perfectly describes the feel and vibe; it's cozy, warm, and with Pulp around - extraordinarily sexy. Most of the tags on "A Warm Place" relate to Pulp's breasts... yes, her curves are amazing but what catches and holds my attention in this set are her eyes. Powerful and penetrating, they pierce through you and burn through you. I wither in her confident, potent gaze, magnificently captured by Michaelmae. Without a doubt, my favorite photo in the set is #35 - what a stunning image!
Tempest with @chayse by @tripodski - There are certain formulas that are no-brainers for pinup sets. A sultry woman in shower is one of them and in the case of Tempest, that formula has been exquisitely executed by Chayse and Tripodski. This set is sultry, steamy, and downright sexy. The angles and styling contribute to it but a lot of it is in Chayse's smile and eyes; she plays the camera in this set like Prince plays a guitar (substitute your favorite musician here, but I think the erotic nature of his music applies in this instance...).
Daytripper with @ollie_rad by @milloux - What an alluring debut! Tall and curvy, fresh-faced yet inherently sensual, I love how Milloux captured Ollie_rad's natural beauty illuminated by the natural light from the windows. As much as I love a model's eyes and how they contribute to a set, expressions can be just as powerful with the eyes closed - #33 and #37 are perfect examples. There's such a variety of expressions in this set; I think it gives us just a hint of what could be - I truly hope that this is the just the first of many sets to come from Ollie_rad.
