Friday found me with absolutely no shits left to give after a couple of weeks that I would just as soon forget. This morning I was awake by 3am and worked on a project I haven't been able to do anything with for the last week. After spending a few hours on it and having breakfast I got the urge to go to the Savannah National Wildlife refuge and take some photos. I got to the Laurel Hill Wildlife Drive around 8am and began the drive around. I made several stops and walked some of the trails; it's good to get off of the road and get back on the trails where there isn't as much traffic (speaking of which, I don't understand why people visit, drive through at 20-25 mph and miss so much of what there is to see - what's the purpose!?). After I finished with the Laurel Hill drive, I walked the NWR's Tupelo Trail. It was a beautiful morning and the experience helped recharge my batteries and reset my outlook on life. It never ceases to amaze me what a day in the woods, swamp, or marsh can do for you.
