i thought i was pretty good at writing beautiful, sad songs, but kris, who plays guitar in my band, dropped by today with some remixes of some stuff we have recorded, plus this beautiful, haunting new piece he wrote, and it blew me away. i wish i could play it for everyone. we'll turn it into a song - i'm not sure if it's gonna be a Girl (my band) song, or if we'll do it on this other project that we've been stacking material up for but i'm staying up late to learn it perfect on guitar tonight. He calls the new one: "SUCK IT"
we just did an acoustic showcase w/o drums, which was really different, but good. Mark, who plays bass, played on his big ole upright and we had this brilliant cat Jun Jensen on cello. It was beautiful. We executed the show great, but we all were really disorganized and didn't get anybody out for it, so it was a real shame. Jun is gonna back us up on a few numbers at our next (electric) show, so it wasn't a total loss, I guess.

(i might have come to the acoustic thing, i love drums, but live drums are sooooo loud--do you kids wear earplugs on stage?)
