My Dinner with Ian *tear*
So like many things in my life...and I'm sure this works as a general principle or proverb about life...but I get behind in doing things and catching up on them becomes a larger and larger task, so I put it off more and more, until it's a momumental task that I dread doing. Such is my luck with balancing my checkbook, doing my laundry, and occasionally blogging.
Life has been good. I finished up the Last Word. Plenty of good unbloggable stories there for the next time I have dinner with any of you. Ms. Ryder is a dream and I hope that we stay friends.
I ended up firsting a short last week which left me with a great feeling of accomplishment, but was an uphill battle, particularly because I'm a bit under the weather. I owe Keith Jones a house, or a car, or a live-in Thai Concubine (his choice) for being there for me this weekend. It was a Fist of the North Star/Mad Max style post-apoc-fest with crazy costumes and action...fun for the most part. One of our actors is the guy they used as the model for the lead character in the video game God of War, so I heard some cool stories. All the female actresses were really cool, considering that most of them had prostetic 6th fingers on all weekend and little else.
Again, more unpostable stories for those of you who see me/talk to me.
It does look like I'll be headed to New Mexico after all. Leaving around the 10th. I'm trying to get better so that I can make the most out of the week I have left in town.
In "yes, Mom...I haven't been making all of this up" news...Honor, the Deciet, TV the Movie, Dead and Deader, and I think Alone with Her are all available at Best Buy/Netflix/wherever. I bought a copy of Honor to see how it turned out, and aside for really looking like we shot it on video, which we did, and some less than awesome production design. The acting is pretty good and the fight scenes are really put together fairly well. I'd say of any of the one's listed rent that and then Alone with Her...any of the others will earn you friend points, but I'll probably have to refund you your money.
In even cooler news, I saw a screening of Waitress at the Arclight. What a good freaking movie. I'm really glad because I think it will honor Adrianne's memory. But yeah...I think it comes out in limited release starting in New York and LA tomorrow. It should get a wider release as the summer progresses. It's a really fun, funny, heartwarming little movie. I'm really glad to have my name in the credits and a small background cameo as well.
OH...to explain the subject line before I leave. Ms. Reg's offered me a VIP day at the Coachella music festival, which I had to turn down because of work...er...and she got to hang out and have dinner with Mr. Ian McKaye of Fugazi and Minor Threat fame. I almost died. I could have hung out with one of my heroes, but instead felt like I had to help organize a hap-hazard trip to the desert with a bunch of girls in not alot of clothing...er. Whatever...I give up.
I'm around for a bit this week...let's hang out.

Oh...the Nekromantix show was the best damn time of my life...everyone should join the Nekro-army immediately. Much love Dollface for coming along for the party.
