I Hate Canadian Politics....
Sadly, the race here is getting heated up far too late. The Georgia Straight magazine this week warns us all of Harper's assendence to a possible majority and reminds us all of that we Canadian's have to vote stratigically to keep someone we don't likeaway from all the riens of power. To do so we have to vote for the other most likely versus someone we really believe in. ( for fear of a wasted vote for the NDP or Greens ) Which keeps all the parties trying to talk to the centre to get the most votes per riding. Stifling any real progressive liberal policies on trade, the enviroment, finance and social programs.
Thankfully, The only choice in Vancouver centre is Hedy Fry. Yes, she's a slippery career politician. But, as the incumbant Liberal rep here she's the ballwark against Mayencourt ( Conservative ) and giving a majority to Harper. Which is tantamout to giving the place away to George Bush's slightly smarter, more control freak cousin. Right as America is about to wake up. Hopefully Vote democrat, and get all protectionalist as the recession claws in. So, I don't have to vote for the NDP, who I hate due to Jack Layton and his ego trip, and class traitorism that led to Harper's minority last time.
If we had purportional representation I could vote for the Greens, Socialists and feel O.K. about it. But, I can't.
And I know why so many people don't vote....
