Snowgasm!
Which is what a friend called it, cracking me up today. Washington (DC) is trembling in fear of a fluffy deluge that "MAY BE OF HISTORIC PROPORTIONS" I'm sure those of you up North are scratching your heads and wondering what all the fuss is about. Down South, we don't deal with snow that well. I for one am looking forward to it. The city looks beautiful under a thick covering of snow. It's rare that DC is quiet and even more rare that it's still. People here will stay indoors. Last time we had snow like this I counted fewer than 50 people including two joggers and two cross country skiers out and about. The woman I was seeing wouldn't leave her house to come out and play.
There will be some snow lovers out there, and I'll be with them although we canceled our sailboat races for Saturday. I'll go out and find some fun. It'll make the irish coffee that much better when I come back in. I'm looking forward to breaking out the dutch oven and making some hearty stew. Aston Villa plays Tottenham Hotspurs on Saturday and I'm looking forward to watching the match.
Stay warm! and think of us as we experience mother of all snow storms

That's awesome. A good snowfall can be extremely calming. It makes even the dullness of the suburbs or mania of the city more palatable.

Oh, yeah. I'm watching the snow fall now. Beautiful stuff. I'm just hoping my local bars manage to stay open during this, the end of days.
