It's one of those magical autumn days here. Sunny, crisp and on the cusp of warm and cool.
Been two years since we celebrated my best mate's 40th brithday in Vegas. A mess of food, drink, roller coasters, giggling like schoolboys at the Star Trek experience and of course the monorail (monorail). I blame the Simpsons
So this week was a birthday drink for him. A great chance to catch up with friends old and new, and pleny of banter and wind ups. I should have made a longer night of it
Today I regret not going to the Brand Hatch circuit for the last big bike race of the season. My mate had been bugging me to go, and in this sunshine it would have been sooo good. Another mate races in the big class too, so the chance of a pit visit was on. I'll be kicking myself for a few days
Holiday was awesome. Great touring holiday, and found some backwaters in both Canada and a couple of US states. Vermont was unlike any other state I'd been to, and seemed to "get" decent beer. Shame it's served too cold Mind you the French Canadians in Quebec and Montreal made some killer food. I didn't want to leave
Back in the UK, the autumn season of concerts is in full swing. The mighty Rush played a blinder this week, as did the two halves of Marillion...the group themselves and ex-singer Fish. Some rock and blues shows and a punk show to come. Can't wait!
Regular readers must be very patient as I'm not the best at making time for this blog. In my defence this is the first time in months I've had two weekends "off" and at home. Back to the point...regular readers will know I badly wanted to change jobs and a better offer didn't quite come off. Well I might still get my way, as the company is laying 100s of IT staff off. And I've done that maths so know my long service and salary would make a very nice leaving present
Still recovering from news that my brother is back staying with my parents. We've never been close, and fell out properly a couple of years ago. He's working between my home and office...just as well my parents warned me. Could have been "interesting" to bump into him
Looking forward to...more crips autumn days, my home citys own "Octoberfest", a trip to Germany in April and watching England in the rugby World Cup final
Peace, love and handstands
