*drum roll*
And now ladies, PSWs and gentlemen (and I mean that in the loosest sense of the word)...the return of rcmarkb's blog.
I figured a long while ago my life would never be boring. I set out to work hard, play hard and make the most of every minute. Choose the harder path rarely trodden. Fix things that are broken. Fill every weekend with memories. Challenge vagueness, indecision and lies.
I like my life that way
And it's taken my first sleepless night to write this.
So what's keeping me up...aside from Cecilia's second chance set If you haven't been to vote against the injustice of it's rejection then do it. Now. Please
*soft rock hold music*
Back yet? Good
Well it's not a hangover that's keeping me up. Despite drinking many beers with an old boss who's just got the sack, my head is clear as a bell. Shame it wasn't a celebration and more a comiseration.
It's not the noise made when the glasses and rubbish from nearby restaurants are taken away. It's a small price to pay for living in the middle of a City....being 5 minutes from kiler pubs and places to eat more than compenstates. As does never needing a taxi to get home after a night out.
And it could have been wondering how I'd fit a whoe days work into just a morning today. Leaving lunchtime to get everything ready (it's not), pack the car (30 minutes plus), drive 3-4 hours to friends for a weekend's racing. But it's not that as that's a usual Friday for me :arr:
Probably more the stuggles I'm having at work. After being passed over for a sort of promotion, everyone is avoiding me. So I'm doing something about it and speaking to other companies. Who seem really impressed with what I've done, and what I can do for them. Make me an offer guys
In the words of the late, great Barry Sheene "Don't wait for your ship to come in, swim out to the bloody thing"
Yes that might mean a leaving do...or more correctly dos as I won't stick at one. And they'll be a celebration and nights to remember. Starting to plan already!
So what else is new?
My shorter hair is going down a storm. I'll never have sensible "management hair" and it's currently spiked up and looking rockier than ever.
Been to a concert or two. I know some didn't think much of Wolfmother (you know who you are)...trust me they rock live. Seen some local bands...two ok, one bland as anything. Manic Street Preachers played in our city and were pretty darned good. Gonna miss Stereophonics this weekend.
I hear Metallica were awesome at Wembley the other weekend. So a very deaf friend said!
And I'm still recovering from missing the Muse Wembley gigs *sob* That's the trouble with a full life...too may hard choices.
Got a mountain of gigs coming up towards the end of the year. Lots and lots to look forward to.
And nearly forgot. Writing this on a new laptop. I found a bargain in a local PC shop...a customer return marked down to what I thought was a good price. Got to the till and it came up 300 cheaper, and after checking that was the price. Result
That does mean I'll have some internet and SG access during hectic weekends away. So you might hear more from me...

That was quite the random comments! But I was amused! The new Linkin Park is quite good...I can't say I own any of Paramore's albums though...partly because they're super hard to find here in Canada
