It's a long holiday weekend here in the UK, so off to get as far away from work and my hobby as possible.
Going to a cottage in a middle of my favourite National Park. Good walking country. Also very good for decen beer...apparently
And holiday Monday back watching British Superbikes for the second time this year. Won't be far from the spot my profile picture was taken. Let's hope it's that sunny again
Work's pretty mad. Felt like 200mph today, and a queue of people deperate to talk to me. Must be my natural charm
A minor disaster when my glasses fell off my hear and onto a hard concrete floor. They didn't survive, and the lens broke for the third time. No spares with me (doh!) so a hasty repair left me looking pretty dodgy.
Time for new glasses. A temporary pair of heavy dark tinted glasses apparently made me more scary....LOL
New glasses habe now arrived. Very light, and need to see if they fit my head better than the last set
I'm in the organising committee for my hobby, helping run a national UK series. Did it once before but left when the bitching got too much. Guess what - one event in and it's all kicked off this year. I knew it would so was ready. buy my fellow committee members are taking it bad.
Why do so few people appreciate the hard work unpaid volunteers do for them in the name of a hobby. I know we're not alone!
Have a cracking weekend all. I know I will
PS - almost forgot. Happy days with new albums from two of my favourite bands, and tours to follow. So far the new Rush CD has the edge, taking me back to when I first listened to them

I get what you mean about the volunteering thing. My hubby is Chairman of a Scout Troop, has been for about 7 years. Now he wants to stand down, but no-one, not even jointly, is prepared to take over. Probably because they know he's worked his ass off during that time. Pretty much the same with the school PTA, school Governors and his boys Cricket team. No-one wants to help out or take over, BUT they all want the best for their kids. Just at somebody eleses expense. It annoys me.
New Rush album, perhaps I'll treat hubby.....well as long as he doesn't mind me falling asleep LOL
Oh and Son of Dork. We did get tickets, but, the tour had to be cancelled due to lack of ticket sales and problems within the band. Looks like I won't get the chance to complain about their performance afterall. There was a mess up though with the age restrictions anyway. Our tickets said 16+ and ticketmaster said 14+, but no-one seemed to be able to confirm anything for me. Sonja is 12, but we could have got away with her as 14+ but not 16. She's disappointed, but I'm not too worried, although I was meant to meet some people there.
I've gone on a bit......sorry.
Hope you are well. Take care.
