Somebody at work the other day reminded me it's my birthday on Saturday. I had actually forgotten. I mean, I remembered when the month rolled around, but after the initial realization, I completely forgot.
Quarter of a century. Weird. Barely old enough to be trusted anymore.
I can't really decide if I'm going to try to do anything. My friends have a tendency to flake horribly even with lengthy advance notice, and I've been heavily disappointed too many times in the past when I've tried to plan something, so I'm thinking about keeping my expectations low and just seeing what happens. The times that I've done that are usually when I've been the most surprised and pleased. Conversely, whenever I get excited and try to do something fun, it usually falls pretty flat and winds up being more than a little depressing.
We are, however, having cupcakes today at work in celebration. I mean, I have to go pick them up myself, since I'm the courier for the office, and it's a little weird, but overall nice.
Also, am I the only one that thinks Twilight is going to suck so hard it'll burst blood vessels? The few small sections I've seen of the book make the prose look horribly overwrought and purple, and everything I've heard about it makes it seem pretty lousy. I guess I'm biased since chastity tends to annoy me (not in every instance, just that I've met a very large number of people who tend to get high and mighty about their chastity so that they don't have to face the fact that their scared of their sex organs), but seriously, there's no way this series is going to be anywhere near as good as Harry Potter.

Then again, I have been wrong about this sort of thing before...

Happy Birthday, Sweetums! I hope your dinner went well. When you texted me I was very far away from my cell and didn't check messages well into the wee hours of the morning. We missed you.
