Day four: The end of the terrah.
Whew, what a time. Had to wake up hellsa early all week, every day until today had to work thirteen hours, and then they topped it off today with a sixteen hour day. Gonna love seeing those paychecks.
Now, I won't say I didn't get tired, and that working sixteen hours is rough, but I really, really got tired of hearing people bitch. I got tired of it yesterday, and today it was worse by far. Seriously, I realize everyone gets cranky, working long hours, but everybody there was working, most of them even later than we were, and we're essentially getting a living wage to stand and sit. Sometimes to walk around, or pretend we're excited and clap. If you don't want to do it, don't sign up.
Yeah, some sets are worse than others. Some are poorly organized (This one was on the poorer side, but not by much), and some of the PAs are assholes (These PAs were shockingly polite and nice), but even the worst set is still mostly just paying you to do shit that a well-trained monkey could do. Stop being such whiney, annoying pussies and making it that much worse for everybody else. It's one thing to crack the occasional joke, but a ton of people were honestly just sitting around being loud assholes. Bit of a pet peeve of mine.
On the plus side, I finished The Masks of the Illuminati, Right Ho, Jeeves, and a couple of short stories by Borges, AND I got a free haircut. Actually, it was more like a haircut that they paid me for, since I got twenty bucks for showing up to the fitting, which took about twenty minutes. All in all, pretty sweet deal.
So, gonna take the weekend off, try to get in a date tomorrow, attend the no-pants party Saturday, and then... well, who knows? My life is the greatest of adventures.
