Ahah, hahaha, ha-haha-ha.
Yet another idea has struck me on my walk to The Mellow Mushroom (The last I think I'll be able to make for a little while. Funds are tight till I get a grown-up job that pays more than six bucks an hour, as my wonderful, wonderful DJ job did.). I was recalling watching Dead Man's Shoes with Kevin the other night, and how I said it was clamoring for an American remake, but then it occurred to me on my way how to make a film that used the same stylistic elemtents, in the same genre, but still rework it to be a different film. It seems like the sort of project people I know could actually get behind, and I knew the moment that I saw that movie that I had to integrate aspects of it into my next horror script. It's so close to the style that I was trying to use when I wrote Room to Move, and the way the characters are represented so well that it's an amazing departure for a horror film.
Ah, this is very exciting. I'll get to writing here in the next hour or so, and I can probably be done with the first draft by this time next week.
Made my appointment for my first-ever professional audition today. It's odd to have worked onstage, for most of the year, for about seven years now, the past four most of all, of course, and to have never attended a single audition. But, then , the stage was always sorta playing second-fiddle to the screen.
Alright, okay, take care of a few online things, then get to writing.
