Just about every time I go somewhere with friends I am the driver. No matter where we go, or how many of us there are we usually take my vehicle. It's been this way at least since we turned 19 and started heading over to Windsor on weekend nights, and probably even before that too.
It seems that this has affected my navigation abilities. Yesterday my girlfriend and I were heading to a metropark nearby to meet up with some of her friends. Since it was such a nice day, we took her car and drove with the top down. This is the first time in the 5 months we've been dating that she has driven me anywhere.
In my defense, the directions were wrong....but I even messed those up before we found out that they were wrong. Long story short, it took us forever to get there and we actually drove a complete circle around the place before we found it.
The way back was no better. Both of us knowing full well that we needed to go north when we hit the highway, she starts onto the southbound exit ramp and I just sit there looking out the window. She realizes the mistake as soon as we are on the ramp, and I am still oblivious until she actually brings it up.
It may be another 5 months before she agrees to drive anywhere.
