So it's been a pretty good week for me. The week of hell that was of last week is over. And all my IIP interviews are over and I got a fucking job at BioWare that I am still pinching myself about.
I had the interview thursday morning. The day before that I went on an adventure to Calgary Trail to actually find the building. It's a very obscure building. What threw me off at first is that it is attached to a hotel. So I initially drove past the bulding, thinking that it was the hotel. Leanne, the really nice HR chick, said that they put no signs up so that they don't get harassed by crazies. Makes sense.
So Thursday morning I went up to the 2nd floor and waited in the reception room. The room had like trophies everywhere and lit-up giant BioWare posters. Leanne then chatted with me a bit and said, "so you got feedback from Kevin on your last module and took that advice for your next mod? That's great cause that's what we do at BioWare". Woooo.
I then went into a room with 6 people in it. Ugh. There was Kevin, 2 other lead designers, 2 IIP students (my friend Kris being one) and some other dudes. Not so much fun. They asked me why I wanted to work there... what was bad about Jade Empire.. some questions about WoW....etc.. It was like the only interview where I can phat lewt and people know what I'm talking about. haha.
Then Kevin showed me around the building. This was like the coolest part and I was like ZOMG I want to work here. They have 4 floors but are expanding to a 5th. Kevin showed me all the departments. They have concept art from all the games they've recently made on the walls. I even got to see some concept art from the unannounced game I will be working on. It looks ridiculously cool. They have a games room... and I kitchen.. I get free breakfast in the morning.
They also have a soccer group in the summer that I will be definately joining. They also have a WoW group and a Magic group haha.
After the tour, I got to sit in the reception area again for like 10 minutes while they made a decision. That really sucked. Waiting blows!
Leanne then took me into a room and said that she would like to offer me a job. WOOOOO. I was sooo excited. I really didn't think I would get it.
So I start May 1st. I can't wait. I'm so fucking sick of school right now and I want to work and have money. So I need to find a place to live in Edmonton. I don't really know where to start. I don't even know when I should start looking. I'm thinking apartment for the time being. A few of my friends may buy a house sometime in Edmonton and maybe I'll move in with them. But that won't be for awhile.
I kind of want to live in a high-rise. I really enjoy views from above.
Al will probably move in with me. It will be good. We can share a one bedroom apartment and split the cost. He'll hopefully have a job by then.
Anyways, I think I'll play some WoW.

Def. look on the U of A site for openings starting in March - semesters end in April so openings for May are easier to find then.
