This week's @bloghomework was to write about an amazing, hilarious, or disastrous romantic gesture that you have either witnessed, received, or done for someone. I have a funny story for you guys! Mine is a disastrous romantic gesture that I did for someone. It was a very cute idea gone wrong.
So this was in my senior year of high school. The guy I was dating at the time had already graduated, so I had to be the one to ask him to come to my prom. Even though we were already dating, I still wanted to do something cute and creative to ask him to go with me. I called in advance to the sushi restaurant that we were going to that night, and asked if they would write "Prom?" on his plate with sauce. Well that was a really tough thing to explain over the phone to someone who barely speaks english. They even asked me how to spell Prom. At this point I was a bit worried, but I thought it would be okay.
Well sure enough, his plate comes out and he looks over at me laughing and goes "Look they wrote some weird asian word on my plate!" They had written "Plam" with a backwards question mark. I had to giggle for a minute, then when I got myself together I used my chop sticks and fixed the letters so that it spelled prom instead. We had a good laugh about it. He still thought it was really cute and it ended up being a funny inside joke. Nevertheless, we went to Plam together and had a great time!
