well, i'm feeling better today....starting to work on planning events for the 15th, which is the next big anti-war day of action. i just joined up with the pdx radical cheerleaders so hopefully i'll have learned all the cheers in time for the next protest. i think i'll just hang out and watch movies with my friend cal tonight and see consolidated at berbati's tomorrow.

dude cheerleaders scare me...merf

but no i haven't heard johny cash's version of hurt..i think that would be rather interesting since well it is one of my favorite nin songs of all time

i try to be tough and indifferent and blase, and sometimes it all feels like such an act. i envy people who have no regard for subtlety, who just spew their feelings everywhere. i mean, can they just not afford therapists or what? meanwhile, i just keep repeating "i don't care that i'm only better then nothing, because i don't care, don't care, don't fucking...

damn, i can relate so much...

sometimes i fear i'm too apathetic, but when i really analyze how i feel, it's the opposite, i seem to care way too much. it tends to lead to hurting a lot. but i don't think it's a bad thing in general..

I used to have a lot of trouble with hiding my feelings and my thoughts...this is going to sound crazy, but i started telling MYSELF how i was feeling. Just saying it made me feel better, and it made it easier to start saying things to the people I needed to say things to.

Oh, by the way, I *loved* the hipster chart on your other journal; I needed the smile. smile Alas, I think I only hit 5 at most, so I will get kicked out of my neighborhood if anyone gets wind of it. (Hmm, maybe you can develop a scoring method, like a cheesy magazine survey? 7-Hipster! 4-6-mere geek; 1-3 modish suburbanite; 0, June Cleaver. Hmm, needs work.)

Just remember what Beavis said.

"Uh... If things didn't SUCK how would we know what was COOL? Without SUCK there is no COOL."

If it's any consolation, the 28 campaign was called a "sophisticated grassroots operation" on NPR. Hooray!
I'm also impressed that you have a hand in 2 books already...

Since I just saw him, I can't resist:
"A spooky note on a Fender bass/
Played less notes, left more space/
Stayed kinda still, looked kinda shy/
Looked kinda far way, kinda dignified/
How in the world were they making that sound?/
Velvet Undergroud"

Ah, your weekend seems so much more interesting. I went to a cocktail party at a professor's house tonight--does that officially make me bourgeois?
I am tired, I am weary.
eris:

the protest was good. i heard an estimate that there were 30,000 people in portland, which rocks. it was very energizing and empowering and invigorating and all that jazz.

my new most favorite website is http://www.blackandredstar.com. check it out.

i have a couple parties to hit tonight....saw party girl at the clinton street theater and drank at dot's last night. probably will...

"In the face of this approaching disaster, it behooves men and women not yet overcome by war madness to raise their voice of protest, to call the attention of the people to the crime and outrage which are about to be perpetrated on them." (Emma Goldman, "Preparedness, The Road to Universal Slaughter," Mother Earth December 1915)

Get out on the 18th, kids!
