Well, I made it out of bed. Forward momentum...good.
So my mom asked me to help her with a powerpoint presentation she was doing for work (she's a sex ed teacher). Basically I'm sitting here typing up all this BS about abstinence and why birth control doesn't work and shit like that. I've done some research on the implications behind abstinence education, and it's totally unrealistic, sets up additional hierarchies and cliques (something I'm sure every high school needs more of), and surrounds sex with an aura of shame. Not cool. I had a pretty fucked up sex education....I came of age in the early 90s, and was taught that if I had sex (even safe sex) I would get AIDS and die a horrible death. I shiver thinking about it.
Sorry for the depressing entry....I am actually feeling much better today. Like I previously stated, I have some forward momentum.
