Packing is an interesting process...you learn about who you were, who you are now, and what tools you posess to become the person you will be. You load your room with stuff that at the time means a great deal to you, but five years down the line when you go to look back at it you realize that most of those 'precious' things are now on their way to charity. You can really learn a lot about a person from the things they horde in their room. So I am going to go pack up the last three years of my life and look back at the twenty before that.
Some questions...
1. Have you ever collected anything? If so, what?
2. What's the one physical object you could never part with?
3. Besides your furniture, what has stayed in your bedroom throughout all or at least most of your life?
my answers
1. I tend to be a pack rat but I collected penguins when I was a kid, bandaids(not used ones, but new ones in the boxes), socks, keychains, and now I seem to be collecting fabric and yarn.
2. my sewing machine...it opens a whole world of possiblities...
3. I have my baby blanket in it's pillow case at the haed of my bed. Yes, I am 23 and still sleep with my Blankie Man, you got a problem with that?
I just thought of another question...
4. What CD would you keep if you had to get rid of all the other ones you own?
4. Ohio by Over the Rhine...it can encompass just about every mood I come in contact with...

anyway, questions
1. i guess i collect books. i just can't stop buying them, even if i don't read them. i am a complete packrat though. i come from a whole family of packrats. when my great aunt died, they went through her house. this was the house that had been in the family for a least a couple of generations. they found old newspapers and scraps of cloth that could be used in case something needed to be patched. all sorts of crazy things. the whole family seems to have this attitude that if it's thrown away the day will come where it would have been useful, so you might as well keep everything.
2. only one? my books, my notebooks, my computer
3. books (there's a running theme!) candles, special stuffed animals, little statuey things
4. dear god, you can't take them all away! i guess i would have to say stabbing westward - darkest days. i have a lot wrapped up in that album emotionally and they're my favorite band.
