So I haven't posted in here for a while other than a pic or two because I got a promotion at my day job! So I've been a line cook and a shift manager, but I'm finally going to be the salaried kitchen manager. It's a 3-month training process because they make you train in the entire restaurant, the front and back of house, which I'm a little bit excited about because I definitely miss bartending! It's a lot to learn for me because I've never worked in the front of house at this restaurant, just the back but it's exciting to learn something new! Even if it's not something really life-changing, just learning a couple drink recipes. Currently I have been learning how to cut meat because we cut all of our own steaks, and I feel like I have learned so much and also probably have a minor level of permanent frostbite because it's all done in a 34° f cooler 🤣🤣. Anyway, just sharing an update, I still check in but during this training. I won't have quite as much time so I promise I am not disappearing or giving up, just studying so I can make some bad ass bonuses and maybe show the boys that a girl can be a kick ass kitchen manager too. Pretty cool to know I could break down any muscle off a cow and turn it into a delicious looking steak! Also if anyone who follows me is a butcher or meat cutter by trade, I have SO MUCH RESPECT FOR YOU!!! That shit is hard and you guys are beasts.
