As I reach another year, I find myself just a bit reflective on life & not just because chronologically I'm pushing the dial higher.
I've been thinking about change and how much I revel in it. I've had some change of late and this year looks to bring some more, both large and small...& of course there is my favorite...the unexpected changes that can catch you off guard if you let them get the better of you...I rarely do.
There are some changes in particular I am looking forward to.
I will begin to take much better care of myself, throwing off bad habits & getting into shape.
I will make the time for my friends & family that they deserve.
And most importantly I will live life fully in the way I always have, by being unabashedly me no matter what.
On a recent very long road trip to New Orleans, driving through some challenging weather conditions, Pam turned to me and said, "We're really having an adventure." To which without hesitation my brain gave my lips these words..."It's not an adventure to me unless it involves swords & improvised electronic devices." I promise never to lose that spirit.
I leave these Birthday musings with a quote from Matt Smith during his final moments as the Doctor...
"We all change, when you think about it. We're all different people all through our lives...and that's okay...that's good...you have to keep moving...as long as you remember all the people you used to be."
