so its my second day back at home in london. i wake up to 'london blasts' on the news channel. i thought maybe it was a clip from a fake news show. or i guess i just hoped so.
the first thing i thought was i never want to travel on london transport again. now im no longer scared about getting blown up, but scared about where all this is going to lead.
im sad and disgusted about what's happened, not only for the people killed/ hurt today, but also the negative impact these attacks will have on the future political climate. they are going to exploit this fear, just as bush has done in america, to pass laws such as mandatory id cards and other such measures that restrict personal freedom and encourage discrimination.
i just hope that the people in this country are a lot more sensible than the enormous amount of people in america that continue their support of bush despite everything he has done. i hope they arent misled or their fears taken advantage of. i guess most of all i hope they are smart. and they wont let the government take them down a slippery slope that eventually leads to england becoming even worse than america.
although i suppose just hoping isnt going to do much good.
