WhOoT! I got a new van...ok, not NEW new, but new to me.
(1998 Chrysler Town & Country minivan)
It is cool. Has doors that open on both sides for passengers, which comes in mighty handy for those of the smaller persuasion. (No more reaching in and climbing over people to make sure buckles are on.)
It even has this nifty little black thing on the keyring that has the coolest freak-out tool called a PANIC button.
You can only imagine how someone jumps when they are surprised. Well, imagine it in a parking lot when no one expects a car horn and lights to go off for absolutely no reason. (My reason, but that's ok, I am practicing for April Fool's Day.)
grins wickedly
On to other thoughts...
Now that I found a publisher of sorts I have to get my self cracking out some more poetry & short stories. Lately though, with all the crap that has cropped up my creativity level has kinda died out, I know it is there able to be revived when my stress levels balance out, I can whip out rough drafts like this:
Thunder of Hoof-beats on High
Is that thunder beneath yonder darkened skies?
The trembles of dew in grass doth quake,
The sound cometh closer, dost ye feel it's ties?
Naught the thunder of storm filled times,
but hooves doth make the hard ground shake.
Tis but a prelude to Four Horses upon the rise.
A rider upon a steed of White
A sword upon his back.
His job is far from being light,
Regal Truth he wears as his tack.
A rider upon a steed of Black
Gives empty bellies to all
Causing mankind to to fight and sack
Bringing War in with a Death-like pall.
A rider upon a steed of Red
The weapon, War is in his wake.
What he does is make the dead,
For his ally, to come and take.
A rider upon a steed so pale,
A scythe held low to catch the dead.
There can not be a escape trail
The helpless fall in death with dread.
2003 Julie Carpenter
I wrote that while I was working, in bits and pieces, and put it together after my route was done. I know it is grim, but sometimes it just needs a pen to get it all into perspective.
Skipping onto another topic, Happy Valentines Day for those people that qualify for the day. Would be nice to fall into that category myself, but...maybe someday.
Laterz...
