As i'm fond of history, i cannot travel ibn the Zoulouland and missed the battlefileds .
First one , is the Bloodriver , where the Boers defeated the Zulus.
The monument represent the "laager", defensive circle ( well more like a D than a O) made from cart, just next to tne Ncome river, you can easily imagine why they name this battle like that.
Next one, and the more impressive is Isandlwana :
this one is special , to make it short, the british decide to invade the Zululand, and one of their 3 columns was trapped by 20 000 zulus. Instead of most battlefiles , the bodies were buried where they were found, with white cairns on top ... that make a really strange ambience ...
This one is one a the worst defeat from the british empire.
And last one : Rorkke's drift.
The next day of Isandlwana, some Zulus decide to cross the buffalo river and to invade the british ( despit the order of their King, zulus only have the order to defend their territories). They knewn that the british had a little outpost, as they ofen traded some goods in this place.
Somethings like 150 british soldiers defeat 3 or 4 thousand Zulus ....
here is the Zulu's monument :
