Thank you for the well wishes on the last blog post. They really meant a lot. That, and talking to some Non-SG friends all helped put things in perspective. So now that all the emo stuff is out of the way (at least for now!), some updates on my life:
The renovations of the house have begun. In a few weeks, this place will look TOTALLY different. I'll have before and after pics to show you. For those of you who do not know, I share a duplex with my parents while I'm still in school (for the record, I don't live with them, I pay rent and lead my own life I just take advantage of the free washer/dryer and ocassionaly raid their fridge). They're having the entire front of the house redone, which it needs badly. The entrance to my half-basement apartment had affectionately been nicknamed "The Pit". It'll look a lot different when this is all done. AND I'm getting this god awful noisy 56 year old door replaced.
The renovations in my mouth are a different story. I had my appointment with the dental surgeon, and submitted the estimate. The insurance company is covering over half of it, but that still leaves me with $900 to pay out of my own pocket. I can't afford that, and I was REALLY hoping to get that done this year, so in January, I get my benefits reset and I can drain them for all they're worth before I quit my job in May. It may be a while still before I get my teeth fixed, and this bothers me.
School is slowly becoming less frantic. My average now stands at 87%, and there are 2 classes that I'm doing rather poorly in (mid-70's). My other 2 classes, however, I'm owning, so it all balances out. If I can keep doing what I'm doing well, and improve on where I'm slacking, things will be fine. I just want a 90% average to keep my current spot on the honour roll. As it stands, quitting school is no longer imminent.
Work is work. I've called in sick a few times lately when I really shouldn't have, and all my sick pay has been used up. Eek. The good thing is that I still have plenty of hours of absenteeism I can use if I need them. I just can't afford to miss too much. Especially since the more hours I work, the closer I am to my raise and bonus. They said it SHOULD be on time, which it never is.
I've been asked to be a godfather again. I'm excited about it, but it's a crapshot. Most of the time, Catholics have to have their confirmation to be able to wed, or be a godparent. Some churches are less strict on that, which is how I could be my niece's godfather. I hope we can pull it off again. Being the francophone that I am, my friend has taken to calling me "Uncle Ribbit" when talking to baby Evan. I'm not getting rid of that. Ever. *sigh*
I am not a gamer, but every now and then, I latch onto a game and don't let go. I did it with World of Warcraft, I did it with Dungeons and Dragons Online (which I wish I still played, I just can't find the time), and soon, VERY soon, it will happen again. On October 10: TEAM FORTRESS 2 BABY! 9 years in the making, and I get to frag again. As I so love to say lately:

I've got plenty of introspective stuff to talk about too, but it's getting late, and I work in the morning. That just means I'll have to blog again soon. Oh, I shold ask a question and keep with tradition, shouldn't I? Ok... What's your ultimate comfort food?
