Sonny Barger: I don't think you need to beat a kid and make him black and blue but I think a child growing up needs to be disciplined. It's so bad today if you just look at your child like you're going to discipline them, they say "touch me and I'm calling the cops." Then when they're 16 years old, they grab a gun and murder somebody, who do they want to put in jail for it? The parents. I was spanked when I was a kid. I didn't take a machine gun to school and kill my enemies. When I had an enemy at school I took him out back and tried to beat him up.

And this coming from a man who is a "criminal". Okay, there may have been a few runins with the law and so forth ... and the whole founding of the Hell's Angels thing.
However, the central point is seems clear. Discipline kids and they will turn out ok. Well, that is sorta a very simple view of it. The rest of the interview explains more ... and it really made sense to me. I have, in the past, been accused of not being the most complex being on the face of the planet ... black and white and all that.
Definately worth the read. And if you can find his autobiography it's worth the read too.
Personal opinion only, however, you are a captive audience. So NER!!
