Week One. Day Three.
MV
Hebrews 4:12
(NLT) For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.
RQ
What is one area in your life you would most like to change? Are you willing to do the work necessary to accomplish that?
Contrary to my activity on this particular site, the area in my life I would most like to change is my constant sinful nature in lust and sexual desire; trying to find happiness and self satisfaction from worldly objects or others approval. I want to SO badly accomplish this change but it is SO hard. I'm sure this is something many of you are aware of.
God help us!?
I need to learn to dedicate my heart and body to the Lord.. always. Commitment to this study is a huge step. Leaning to prayer, and opening my bible at signs of struggle are other ways to stay on track, and grow with the Lord. I'm still labouring this step.
Regardless of having a child I'd like to save my body from this point on for marriage. Is it possible? Am I naive!?
A passage I came across which is helping me in this area is:
2 Timothy 2:22 An approved worker
Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts.
ASP
Colossians 3:12-17
Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each others faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all clothe yourselves in love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.

Day 3
Whatever feelings you have within you are attracting your tomorrow.
Worry attracts more worry. Anxiety attracts more anxiety. Unhappiness attracts more unhappiness. Dissatisfaction attracts more dissatisfaction.
AND...
Joy attracts more joy. Happiness attracts more happiness. Peace attracts more peace. Gratitude attracts more gratitude. Kindness attracts more kindness. Love attracts more love.
Your job is an inside one. To change your world, all you have to do is change the way you feel inside. How easy is that?
I find it interesting to see the similarities in each practice, yet so foreign from each other.

Sorry, after being on here for several years I guess I've become a bit pessimistic. I was referring to "making it" on this site. Not in your studies. Sorry about that.

You know, I wonder why God would have made us with that nature if we were meant to resist it. That was one of the things that I always had a hard time reconciling.
