I know there are lots of Pokémon sets coming out, but my Misty one by @gemmaedwardsuk means a lot to me. Playing the games and watching the anime as a kid was a way I bonded with my brother (who to this day attends card and video game Pokémon tournaments around the country) so there are a lot of bittersweet memories there for me. It was also when watching the show the first stirrings of latent bisexuality emerged- I was with Brock, swooning over the beautiful spunky girls with their colourful hair. But Misty? I wanted to *be* her. She was everything I wasn't as a kid: cute, slim, confident, powerful. I envied her, and wanted to be her friend.
Cosplay makes me feel sexy and colourful, and now I'm built more like Misty she seemed an obvious choice for me. It felt good to slip into her shoes (or shorts, in this case) for the day, and I love the idea that she went a little wild in her 20's and covered herself head to toe in tattoos.
So far this set is 1 month, 1 week until you see this set, but who knows? With cosplay friday the world is full of surprises 😍
