See today's comic? That's why I missed two days' strips: the need for characterization combined with writer's block.
Well, that and technical issues.
All that aside, I have to say that Rock Band's guitar sections are ridiculously easy. Me, I play Guitar Hero and the like on Expert. I'm not the best, but I can generally scrape by on most difficult songs. Now, I've never beaten a Guitar Hero; one or two songs always trip me up, and they're always understandable (see: Raining Blood.) But for Rock Band... well, with the exception of one song (which I'll get to in a minute,) not only did I not fail once (I fail hard songs quite often in Guitar Hero), but I played all of them sitting down. This is relevant because I am of the opinion that if you are sitting while playing, YOU ARE ROCKING INCORRECTLY. These songs, however, were just easy enough that they were not worth standing for. Which is not to say that they're bad- they're mostly quite awesome- but they're just not hard. But then, this is also rendered moot considering that it's not Guitar Hero- it's Rock Band, and there's two to three other instruments going at the same time.
The one song that I did fail, though, was the last one- Green Grass and High Tides, by The Outlaws. It's almost ten minutes long, takes forever to get going, has really long solos, long series of consecutive hammer-ons to pull-offs to hammer-ons to pull-offs that all but the greatest player needs full star power and luck for, and... that's right.
It's Freebird in disguise.
