ok..so..at the risk of jinxing things (which tends to happen when i either a) get excited about something good to happen to me or b) share something good that's going to happen to me with other people), here's an update:
after spending so much time worrying that i needed to find another job because the offer to start training to become a credit manager had apparently fallen through (man that was a long sentence), i learned today that i am to start training tomorrow. so no more sales for me. this, for the moment, is a double-edged sword. the good: i don't have to worry about commission anymore, or even hourly pay..i'll be making straight salary. the bad: my paperwork to become a trainee has not been officially finalized yet, meaning that even though i'm still starting to learn credit, i'm still on company payroll as a salesperson. which means at this point, i'm no longer selling anything. which means i won't be meeting my quota. which means that, until my status is officially changed, i will be making minimum wage as is per policy regarding salespeople who don't meet their quotas. the manager told me she thinks they'll have it finalized by the end of next week, but that remains to be seen. the good news, though, is that i don't need to worry about sales at all anymore.
in other words, for the short-term, i may be in trouble, but for the not-so-short term, i'm in pretty damned good shape.
yay.

this is a generic message to all of the people on my friends list. I have reached the point where I must accept the slackass nature of myself and accept that I will never respond to each person who told me happy birthday individually. so...this is like a memo.
if you told me happy birthday; thank you. IRL, no one did outside of family...so y'all just rocked my socks.
if you didn't tell me happy birthday...well. fuck off.
