I really want to update ...
... but I really don't feel like writing something down.
I've had a pseudo case of writers block, perhaps from really doing a lot of stories this year. I'm planning a slew of features and such for the site this year, but haven't been able to come up with any meaningful updates, but now that I've started writing this, I think it might help get the block away from my somewhat therapeautic belief about zee blogs.
Upon returning from Azerbaijan, which is one of the dirtiest places I've ever been -- I'll probably explain that in greater detail, but I did get a chance to fly from Baku to Frankfurt to Philly then take a train from Philly to Lancaster, catch a cab to the Quality Inn and make it just in time for the second game of darts.
That's dedication to a team there. I was in the Middle East to start the day and ended it at the Quality Inn. Weird.
I'm heading to Greensboro, N.C. in the morning for a big preseason wrestling tournament and it's one long day. It's about an eight hour drive.
I'm also just walking in from watching The Nightmare Before Christmas in 3-D at the midnight showing. I love checking out the midnight "sneak preview" -- it adds so much to be able to say you've seen something actually before it came out, but not be a jackass about it.
I've seen four movies at the midnight showing this year, so living across the street from a movie theatre has it's benefits. Checked it out with some friends, including good ol' champagne__supernova from here on the x. She's good people. But the great thing was the 3-D, but the biggest thing to me was that I'd never actually seen the movie.
There's some pop culture references that clearly made sense now that I've seen it. I'm hit or miss with Tim Burton, but even for a "musical," I totally dug the movie. But since it's a re-release, it doesn't have that whole "you've gotta go see it." With one notable exception, the 3-D truly is remarkable.
I've got HGTV on right now, which is kind of fitting, since I put in an offer on a house on Wednesday. That's right, you're reading that correctly -- Twinkie = Homeowner? We're negotiating right now, but I could be living in a completely renovated row home in Lancaster just yards from Clipper Magazine Stadium, home of the baseball team here in Lancaster. It's also close to the places I know well and it's move-in ready.
So it's kind of an exciting time, I'd like to be all moved in before the wrestling season hits, but that's starting before I know it.
On other levels, I'm still single, but I'm so damned busy right now and trying to save some money for the house. Most everything in my life is rockin' right now. About to pay off the truck in a few months, although I need an inspection -- and a new windshield. Funny how those cracks always appear just before an inspection is due.
Ah... somewhat of a quick hit into what's going on. ... three writing/web awards this year also make things worth doing.
