Been pretty pissed at the way I've been throwing the disc around lately. PA has been kicking my ass with its courses, and it's not like they're tough, it's the fact I just SUCK at disc golf.
I've been playing for a while, but I can never get into a rhythm. Technique-wise, I know what I'm doing wrong, but the actual part about correcting it ... yeah, not doing so well. To add to the fact, I was down to six discs, and two of which were putters and I lacked a solid driver ... last one went into "heart-shaped lake" up in Akron.
So I hit up the internet, bought some discs, and a bag (finally). Biggest steal was 10 discs for 40 bucks in a Discraft misprint stack. Very good discs, just a stamping issue. By stamp, I mean the logo stamped on the top of the disc has a flaw, so they didn't go out. Got some real nice plastic for cheap, but the stamps are great.
Things like
Black Hills State University Disc Golf and Great Lakes Open and Inland N.W. Disc Golf Series 2006 from Washington.
Here's the new stack.
Ones on the left are drivers, the right mid-range and the top is putters.
On to more domestic issues.... now that I'm home-bound for a while (Save my trip home to Virginia for Mother's Day), I went shopping last week .... at midnight and spent an assload of money on foot for my homestead. I'm also cleaning the place up and have some new wall decor, some quality posters and frames and stuff and got that god-awful banner off my wall.
I also got inventive with some of my cooking. Today, I made steak fajitas on some bargain chuck steak. It's decent by itself, but it's great if you marinate it for a day or so and stir-fry it up.
My first real meal was grilled tuna steak with green peppers, green beans, corn on the cob and a small salad. Oh man, was it TASTY. This is something the Foreman Grill G5 (The one with the changeable plates) does well... perfect dinner.
I'll be cooking more at home after work now that I've got the time... damn, am I domesticated?
Hardly.
