Ok, a brief nerd ramble *waits for people to run for the exits*.
So the year that the original dead space came out I was working as a maintenance guy at a hotel. It was an interesting time for me because I was in-between being this unhinged, party all the time type, to the reclusive vampire that I am today. It was a weird time. So in the shop of the hotel we had broken TVs that needed to be fixed and when Dead space came out my buddy and coworker decided to hook up the PlayStation to one of those TV's to do a little space maintenance while not doing regular maintenance. Those days were very nostalgic to me, and that coworker buddy is now one of my closest friends. I also credit that game for being one that helped shift my concept of escapism.
Flash forward to today and the dead space series had spiraled out into a space action coop game, (which was fun to play but not the same mood as the first) and the survival horror genre has both died out and been brought back.
Was I hesitant at first to invest in a remake of a favorite game, reanimated by the company that arguably drove the series into the ground? Yes. However, I don't think Ile be able to resist stomping my way around the USG Ishimura again.
So my question is this, are there any games that you played years ago that you would both want to play a remaster of? Really all I want is a remaster or even just a 4k 60 patch for Bloodborne, but that's a whole other ramble for another time.

I've never played Dead Space but I can relate to having nostalgic memories of games that I played when I was younger and still love to this day like Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. I loved the original Final Fantasy 7 but I'm on the fence about playing the remake.

@teva Zelda games are very timeless and definitely worth going back to. As for the ff7 remake I am I'm the same boat. I do want to see it on a modern engine but still haven't actually played. Don't worry though you will have ample time to make a decision on the ff7 remake since they have yet to even release part 2.
