Well it's Feb. 2 and We have started having fires, the first one that I went to Monday I used a Dozer, the one pictured in my profile pics of forest fires, to construct the fire line on one side of the fire and around the back side of the mountain. I had fun and it was good to get back out in the field and work on some fires after sitting in the office doing paperwork for so long. Some call me crazy on the dozer other thank me for making there work easier. I hope to spend more time out of the office, as you can see I need it, work with the four Ranger that I suppervise, or as some say manage. They are great workers, but not ready to turn loose by themself on a dozer, there are getting there. Well enough about what I've been doing, got to get back to posting comments on my FRIENDS Sets.
Just so everyone will know, I'm what they call a Wildland Firefighter, use to be call Forest Fires but now they call them wildland fires. This is mostly due to more fire are out side of the forest, more in swamps, grasslands and in peoples back yard. The Bigest fire that I havw worked on was at Clear Lake Ca. in 1996, we were there for over 14 days working on a 140 thousand acre fire, the smallest was out side of Jacksonville Fl. in 1998, it was between the road and railroad and burn a spot about 50 feet by 50 feet, but it took one dozer and six pumper trucks to put it out. Some are easy others we may have to work on for day to get it out and make sure that it stays out. I have been with Forestry for 17 years now and can't wait untill I can retire in three more Years.
Look it these three sets of Louisianna's.
