I can't sleep so I was going through old pictures and stuff I wrote. Nostalgia and insomnia go hand in hand sometimes. (Maybe I'll post some the photos in my next post) there was a time where all I listened to was hip hop such as atmosphere, busdriver, sage francis &aesop rock; and I wrote a lot during that time. My friend Claude who's a pretty good artist (he's not known except among friends and some austin people) and he was my sensei and I, his padawan. He wanted me to get good enough to do a track on one of the many albums he's made. I never did, my muse for writing comes and goes; anTh eyd when it goes it doesn't come back for a long time. I wish I still wrote the way I used to, my life has changed immensely since I really wrote anything and my muse still has a lot of wanderlust.
I wrote this back in 2009 (that was a big transition year for me) and felt like sharing it. I'm typing it the way I wrote it out so it may seem jumbled. I was listening to Atmosphere's "Woman With The Tattooed Hands". You can tell in my writing. This will always be my favorite thing I've written.
" She had the beach hair and the freckles. The courage and the will. She could go anywhere she wanted, and no one would care. Everyone just stared and let her be. She was a wanderer. No one knew her name, they just looked in amazement. She smiled at everyone she passed by; she'd stop in the park and play acoustic guitar. She'd let her mind go free and her soul sing. People still looked in amazement. She had tattoos on her hands. One of what God looked like, and one of the Devil. They smiled at her too. Her long, flowing dress of sins and truth. Someone who showed everything about herself, or nothing at all. If she spoke, the people would just listen. They never said a word to her, but had so many questions. Tell her life story and leave to the next town; leaving people with words of wisdom and inspiration. She was a walking piece of art &the earth was her gallery. "
Anyways, have a good day/night. Good vibes
