Well I never claimed to understand what happens after dark,
But my fingers catch the sparks at the thought of touching you
When you're wounded.
-Third Eye Blind
Birthdays are always bittersweet. I happy b/c I'm supposed to be I guess (and presents), and it's my day, but it just feels wrong that more hasn't been done in the time it took the earth to go all the way around the sun and back to where it was last time.
Can you spare a quarter...century?
Hey, I picked up some CDs that I'd meant to get before but never got around to. Grandparents and Aunt sent money, most of which will go straight to the bank account, but I used a little of it to get myself a CD from both them and from myself.
Third Eye Blind's Blue (1999)
Springsteen's Tunnel of Love (1987)
Zwan's Mary Star of the Sea (late 2002)
It's good to catch up on the stuff you want every time you see it in the store.
Yeah...
So: how do you manage your own b-day?
(Me: ignore it mostly, keep it low key. That way, if I ever do anything Big, I can celebrate and it'll be a real contrast)
favorite holiday?
(Me: MLK is the only one I regularly "observe")
least favorite holiday?
(Me: Valentine's ...I mean, come On, people... And pink? White purity of love + red fires of passion = diluted pink capitalism)
Hmm...this was sort of a sad entry. As the 3EB plays, I realize I've got someone on my mind, too. Kinda person who makes this line ring true: I never felt alone, till I met you. I'm alright on my own, and then I met you.
Sorry, birthday makes me melancholy.
