One of my favorite lyrics today, is from a song called "Fémina" by a Mexican band called "Viles Vinyles". In an interview they explained that they had written this song because, as well as in México in many parts of the world, violence against women, femicides, instead disappearing, is becoming something terribly everyday. Unfortunately, the problem is becoming so serious because it is normalizing and people do not give it the importance they should have.
The band told an anecdote for which they wrote this song, and it was that the designer who is in charge of the art of their albums and flyers, left one day at home in the morning and in a gardener that is on the sidewalk in front of The door of his house was the body of a woman. How is it that people are so cold to leave a woman's body like that? How do they not have the heart to kill a living being? It is a song in protest and a promise to women who were victims of heinous acts, asking for justice and promising that they will not be forgotten.
-I translated it into English for you.
Woman
Now that you are absent
In me you always make yourself present
Sing with cries in the belly
To all the children of the rising sun
Female
In you and in your fallen look
The dreams are prostrated, of a new day
Avenge i want
To find your eternal rest
Rumbles woman
In the echoes of the sky
It rots, woman
Your murderer in hell
Law unable to make pay
The culprit must be accused
Protect your legacy, it costs
And realize
That you don't have to shut up
Rumbles woman
In the echoes of the sky
It rots, woman
Your murderer in hell
Killer go now
Killer you have to pay
