ice white fang-e teeth come scraping through shutters
shutter flap flap claps in cool turning-into-spring winds
there is a hand on my neck
i am awake and alseep at the same time
again
and my thoughts travel back to that book
there's a monster in my closet
there's a void under my bed
waiting silently but moving all the time
and hoping to get its fuzz sawtooth sting around my sock
the smell of summer mingles with dead leaf

I think because Julia doesn't quite know where the party ends and what is 'truth'. I think she loved him, I'm just not sure how well she managed to seperate the two.
Whilst the book is anti-communist, pro-individual I think it has a spike in the tale, in that to be free you have to watch yourself. With Winston, his character sacrifices Julia to protect himself (do it to her).
They both do, but I thought Winston did it in a crueller way?
